Reboot

This is my most viewed work of art, and has been aged quite nicely. I am looking to find a permanent display home.  It is unique in each arrangement, dependent on which pieces are used and space it occupies.  Individual parts come together to form a larger version of itself.  I create in stages, the same way I live my life.  I have been fortunate In life to not have any major struggles to overcome and the struggles I did have were generally self inflicted.  I have lived enough to be able to reflect on my time in this world and how It's affected me and my views.  I have grown to understand a concept of time which allows for thought experiments on various perceived experiences.  I want to share my experiences and thoughts hoping for a better future.

Life....hmph?

Yesterday I found myself in a place that I haven't been for a while, a place I had almost forgotten existed.  Past lives.  No I am not talking reincarnation, however that is another conversation, I am talking about a generation that has had the opportunity of wearing many masks throughout our singular life.  But I digress. I began thinking of all the accounts just on the inter webs that I have registered for trying to create multiple opportunities, ideas, interaction, and most of all information.  Our generation is the first to have a collected documentation of not just our lives but that of a majority of our generation.  Some's whole life is recorded in multiple ways,  and patterns begin to emerge.  At first not many, but the longer you look and the further back you travel looking at history, religion, philosophy, empires, powers that have all had a beginning and all at some point will end. 

I have found most in this generation have become "Educated" and are beginning to see bigger pictures.  We are what we question to be, what we have been, and what we become.  We are all living, stop the paradox of yourself and others and become responsible for your needs.  I guess that is my rant based on the thought that I have too many accounts. :)

Trunk of Life

Currently in its fourth variation, trunk of life is one of the few titles given to ways this puzzle can go together.  It has been over a year now since I last created a new part to my thesis body of work that took on a life of its own.  Only a few of these incantations saw the public eye and I even caused one to fall with a loud ground shaking crash, but that was before I was capturing everything from the process to the final stills.  I have a show coming up on the heels of my first year teaching high school art in the Memphis area as well as an adjunct art appreciation instructor as well as student.

This is the first time stacking the larger forms with the smaller forms.  In total it is about 12 feet tall and comes off the wall about 8-10 feet.

New stuff

So this is the first piece of about ten for my thesis project which tentatively is dubbed "Earth Fire and the Human Experience.  More to come next week.
